Roadmap

Features

WListDB Android Mobile App

A native Android app that lets users access WListDB on phones and tablets. Users can browse and discover games, manage collections/wishlists/backlogs, rate and review games, follow other users, and receive push notifications with account sync.

WListDB iOS Mobile App

Develop a native iOS app so users can browse games, manage collections, wishlists and backlogs, rate and review titles, follow other users, and receive push notifications about releases and updates. The app should mirror core web features (game details, stats, activity feed) with native performance and offline-friendly behaviour for mobile use.

More interactive game cards

Hey man, back with another potential suggestion! lol I stumbled upon this site as well, and I think what they do when you hover over the game card is really cool. At a quick hover you basically get all the information and the images from the game (which you already have on the main game page, so I could be a matter of just putting them here as well). Might be worth exploring to make the site more interactive!

Ascending/descending filters on lists

More filters ascending/descending - release date, popularity, rating

Suggested by Dj3l3

Add a "All Hyped" button

Add a button to take you to all Hyped list

Filter Lists

Filter lists (e.g. Hyped) by rating, release date, platform etc.

More filters on Releases

Browse standout releases by week, month, or year

Would make this site a one stop website for both discovering new weekly games as well as going retroactively

Filter profiles by clicking status counts

On another user’s profile, status counts (Playing, Plan to Play, On Hold, Backlog, Finished, Abandoned, Endless) are visible but not clickable. Make each count open/filter that user’s library by status (own profile already links to /my-tracked?state=…). Source: Discord (Poppolouse).

Playtime fields when you first add a game

Playtime can already be set by editing a run, but it is hard to discover (buried under the … menu). On first add, show the run expanded (or a clear playtime field) so users can enter hours without hunting. Steam import should keep working; manual entry covers non-Steam / console / past finishes. Source: Discord (Poppolouse). Partial workaround already exists via runs.

Select platform(s) played for a game

When adding/editing a game in the library, let users pick platform(s) played (Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, Epic, etc.), including multiple platforms. Show a small icon/label on the entry and optionally on reviews. Source: Discord (Poppolouse).

Recent play sessions and hours-per-day on profiles

Public profile section with last 14 days of playtime per day and a list of recent tracked sessions. Can be shown, hidden, and reordered in the profile layout.

Edit profile content interactively on your profile

Edit bio, links, favorite games, showcases, activity and public lists directly on your profile (Edit Profile), instead of a Settings form.

Reorder profile showcases

Allow changing the order of profile showcase sections (e.g. Favorite Games, Top Rated, Recently Finished) via drag & drop or move up/down in profile customization. Source: Discord (Poppolouse).

Suggested by Poppolouse

Link external accounts on profile

Add External Links / Connected Accounts in profile settings (Steam, Discord, Twitch, YouTube, etc.) shown as icons near the top of the profile (username/bio area). Source: Discord (Poppolouse).

Suggested by Poppolouse

Add a profile bio / description

Optional short Bio / About Me on the profile header under or next to username, with a reasonable character limit. Source: Discord (Poppolouse).

Custom Favorite Games showcase on profiles

Add a Favorite Games showcase where users manually pick games, reorder them, and optionally show/hide the section — independent of rating, completion, or recent activity. Source: Discord (Poppolouse).

Suggested by Poppolouse

Choose which profile sections are displayed

Toggle each profile showcase section on/off (Last Hyped, Top Rated, Recently Finished, etc.) in profile settings. Source: Discord (Poppolouse).

Suggested by Poppolouse

Option to display profile sections in one or two rows

Per showcase section, choose 1 row vs 2 rows (e.g. keep Last Hyped at 1 row, expand Top Rated / Recently Finished to 2). Source: Discord (Poppolouse).

SUPPORTERCustom SteamGridDB profile background

Let Supporters paste a SteamGridDB Hero image URL as their profile background instead of only the curated catalog options.

Suggested by Poppolouse

Richer profile with activity summaries

Show more detail on public profiles: recently hyped games, top rated, recently finished, and recent reviews in a clearer activity overview.

Suggested by Poppolouse

Display personal game status in collection lists

When viewing any collection list, show each game's current personal status — e.g., played, playing, completed, owned, wishlisted — as a visible label or badge. This lets users quickly see whether they've already played, own, or want a game without opening each game page.

Suggested by Asier Celarain

Replace Calendar View with Timeline for Releases and Completed Games

Replace the current calendar grid with a continuous timeline that displays game release dates and users' completed/finished dates. The timeline should allow scrolling and zooming, filtering by platform/genre/list, and clicking items to open game details so users can more easily spot upcoming launches, release patterns, and their play history.

Weekly AI Picks: Under-the-Radar Indie Games

Each week an AI-curated list surfaces seven lesser-known indie games with strong reviews, presented in Spanish. Entries include a short Spanish summary, review highlights, and links to the game page with options to add to wishlist or follow—helping users discover and support underrated developers.

Search for Companies, Users, and Games

Provide a unified search so users can quickly find game companies (developers/publishers), other users, and game entries. Results should return company pages, user profiles, or game pages with relevant filters and previews for easy discovery.

Search and Follow Users

Add a dedicated user search so members can find other users by username or display name, view their profiles, and follow them to receive activity and update notifications. This makes it easier to connect with friends and discover users with similar tastes.

Integrated Blog and News Hub

Adds a built-in blog and news hub where users can read official announcements, developer updates, reviews, and community articles related to games on WListDB. Users can browse by category or game, follow authors or topics, comment and react on posts, and receive notifications for new or relevant articles.

SUPPORTERPublish Game Reviews with Smart Improvement Suggestions

Write and publish reviews on WListDB while the platform provides automated, actionable suggestions to improve clarity, grammar, structure, and usefulness (for example: pros/cons, spoiler warnings, tags, or rating guidance). Suggestions appear during drafting and can be applied before publishing or later as edits to make reviews more helpful and discoverable.

SUPPORTERAdd a gallery of selectable profile frames

Provide users with a browsable list of decorative profile frames (avatar borders) they can apply to their account. Frames can represent achievements, events, themes, or purchased cosmetics and will appear alongside the user's avatar in profiles, reviews, and activity feeds.

Add French, German, and Portuguese Language Support

Allow users to switch the WListDB interface to French, German, or Portuguese. This includes translated UI text, notifications, and localized date/number formatting so native speakers can browse, track, and receive updates in their preferred language.

Interactive Onboarding Tour for New Users

A guided, interactive walkthrough for first-time visitors that highlights WListDB’s core features—browsing games, tracking collections/wishlists/backlogs, rating and reviewing, following users, and setting notifications. Users can progress at their own pace, see contextual tips and highlights, and replay or skip the tour anytime.

SUPPORTEREnhance User Global Statistics Dashboard

Provide richer, clearer aggregated statistics about a user's games, collections, and activity—e.g., totals, completion rates, playtime, genre/platform breakdowns, and trends over time. Include filters, time ranges, comparisons with other users, and exportable visuals so users can better understand and share their gaming habits and progress. https://wlistdb.com/stats

User Achievement System for Game Tracking and Engagement

This feature will allow users to earn achievements for milestones in their gaming journey, such as completing games, reaching certain playtime, or writing reviews. It aims to enhance user engagement and provide a sense of accomplishment within the WListDB platform.

Sortable Hype List (custom ordering like Collections)

Let users manually reorder their Hype list the same way Collections can be ordered—e.g., drag-and-drop, pin, or set custom positions—so they can prioritize upcoming games and keep that preferred order across devices.

Notify followers when a game's release date is revealed or on release day

When you follow a game, you receive a notification the moment an official release date is announced and again on the day the game is released. Notifications should respect your notification preferences (in-app, push, email) and allow opt-in/opt-out per game or globally.

Resync Steam library for existing games and unignore ignored titles

Allow users to re-sync their Steam account to update games already added to their WListDB library (e.g., metadata, ownership, playtime) without creating duplicates. Also provide an option to unignore games that were previously ignored during import so they are re-added and tracked in the user's collection, wishlist, or backlog.

AI-Powered Review Moderation & Quality Checker

When composing a review, an AI-powered checker analyzes it before publishing to ensure it meets site guidelines and quality standards — e.g., detecting abusive language, spam, personal data, or excessive spoilers. It provides real-time feedback and suggested edits, or flags the review for moderator review if necessary.

AI-Powered Similar Game Recommendations

Provide AI-generated "More like this" suggestions that surface games similar to a chosen title or tailored to a user's tastes, using data like genres, mechanics, tags, reviews, and play history. Display personalized recommendations on game pages and in feeds, optionally showing brief explanations of why each match was suggested.

CollectionPage: Add hyped-release sections (upcoming, unconfirmed, released)

In Hyped virtual mode, the CollectionPage will group games into three sections — Upcoming (scheduled), Unconfirmed (no firm date/uncertain), and Released (already launched). This lets users quickly scan and prioritize hyped titles in their collection or wishlist.

Public list URLs use human-readable slugs instead of IDs

When a user shares or visits a public list, the URL should use a readable slug (derived from the list title) rather than an opaque numeric or UUID identifier. This makes links easier to read, remember, and share, and improves discoverability.

Incorporate Images for Roadmap Features and Bug Reports

This feature request aims to enhance the roadmap by allowing the inclusion of images for each feature and bug report. Users will benefit from visual context, making it easier to understand the planned updates and issues at a glance.
